This park was very nice and the people were very helpful. The park was clean. Our spot was by the lake: about 25 feet from edge, in a nice shaded spot. The fishing was not very good, just small bullheads. The pools and beach were very good and clean. Lots of stuff for little kids to do, but I do advise renting a golf cart for $60 for the weekend for this is a big park. One day just about sunset, I was fishing and looked up and saw a full grown eagle flying over lake. It was nested in a tree by the camper: very cool! This park is worth the price if you have little kids. We would camp here again.

This campground sites were very small. I have a 31 foot motorhome, we could not put up our awning due to a tree in the way. My slideout was about 1 to 2 inches from another tree on other side. The water & electric hook up was on other side of camper so we had to get out a garden hose for water. They had a very nice pool. The office/store closed by 3pm most time sooner than that. There was a pond with no fish in it one of the permanents said he there was fish in there but he had not seen anyone pull any out in a long time. Carlyle lake is near by its a huge man made lake looks like a smaller lake Michigan. There are lots of water things to do there. The campground was loud at night because cars and trucks. All in all this was a no thrills campground I would not drive out of my way to stay here. Lake Carlyle cool, Hickory shores resort not cool. We will not be going back.

This park was clean. There were nice people in morning but crabby in the evening. This was a boys fishing weekend. The lake was about 20 feet from camper they showed lots of pictures of big fish catches. I don't know if it was the weather we had a cold front and rain come through but we got nothing but small to med bluegill. We got yelled at by the owner. I think he was the owner. Our site was by his house and I guess we were loud. We weren't that loud, just guys around a camp fire drinking and laughing and talking. The guy told us that quiet hours were at 8pm, but the rule sheet said 11pm. It was still light out at 8pm. The web site said they had all this food and store. There is no store and very little food. There are restaurants and stuff down the road about half mile walk. It is a nice place to camp just dont make noise after 8pm and bring your walking shoes. I would camp here again.

This park was very clean, and the people were very nice and helpful. They offer a free shuttle to the amusement park which was okay. Some of the people around there were on the shady side, mostly on the weekends. The pool was clean, warm and big. The store had almost everything you could need. The only bad thing for us is when we had to leave. We would come here again.

The park was clean and the lake was very pretty. The park needs a lot of work the last owners ran it in to the ground. The new owners are trying to bring it back to what it was. We stayed at the hanger site #3 it was OK when we got there on Thursday but by Friday they backed so many big 5th wheels and big pull along that my 31 foot motorhome looked small and the only view I saw was the peoples slide out next to me. This was a waste of a 4 hour drive and gas. I booked this park due to a buy one night get one free. Next time I will never book a park without checking this review site. We will not be going back.

This park was a joke. It was like dry camping. Our water was just a pipe stuck in the ground with no water. We had to use a garden hose to stretch to the next open lot to get water. The fire ring was a car rim just thrown down on the ground. The owner, I think he was the owner, was too mean to talk to. He did not like anyone to ask or talk to him, so we just made due with what we had. Not a good idea to make a crazy, mean man mad at you in the middle of the woods, far away from any kind of police. The people with us went to the dump. I guess it had gas build up in the dump. When she let the black tank go the dump back fired and she was covered with 3 days worth of you-know-what. So needless to say we will not be coming back here ever!!!
